Life is Changing!!

So much is going on right now and I can't even talk about it which doesn't make for a very interesting blog.

So, I am going to take part in "Show us your life" at Kelly's Korner. This week is Wedding Showers--I love all this wedding stuff!

Three very dear friends hosted a wedding shower for me that was so much fun! A lot of my new family attended which was very special to me. We played a few games and enjoyed an afternoon with good wine and great company!

My new mom that I feel very blessed to have--She is a wonderful mother-in-law!My mom and good friend Patty (One of the trio to host the shower)
Another of the trio-Janice and I

The set-up - 7 Springs Winery.
We were blessed with so many wonderful gifts! Everyone was so generous I was a little overwhelmed with it all.
The cake was delicious and so pretty! It was our wedding colors and new initials. The hubby and I have the same initials now!

Perfect Weather, Great Fun!

Yesterday we were invited to attend Potter's House's special family service . After church they were having fun and food and........a pie eating contest. Kaleb decided to join in on the fun and although he didn't win he had a lot of fun!

He's got his game face on!
~Our friend Brian getting dunked~

After all that fun we still had a dock party to attend and soaked up some more sun.

Saturday was spent in the cool breeze at HaHa Tonka State Park. It really was a nice weekend but we didn't have dad home so that was the one thing that would have made it perfect.

Writer's Workshop

It's that time again for Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop. This week's prompt that I choose to write about is #1) What will you be doing now that the kids are back in school?

The first thing I won't be doing is paying all my money to daycare! Wahoo!!

Since they have always gone to school/daycare during the day because I work full time, my days won't be much different. My mornings before work are really all that's different now because they are both getting on the bus. So, I have a little extra time in the morning since I won't be driving to daycare. I plan to start my exercise routine again and instead of drinking my coffee on the go, I will sip it while sitting with the boys before they leave.

And They're Off!

Off to school that is. It's the first day and I am feeling a little nervous for the little guy. At the "meet the teacher night" he was a little overwhelmed. Our new 4th grader is excited to be the oldest at the school. I know that big brother will look out for little brother and I am so excited to hear all about their first day!

Backpacks for Little Guys

So Kaden is definitely smaller than most children his age. He is just now making the change from size 18/24 month old clothes to a size 3/4. Yes, Kaden is almost 6 and is just now getting into size 3/4 clothes.

The problem started when we went back-to-school shopping for "school" supplies (which is a whole other post for a different day). Every backpack was too large but he had his heart set on getting a backpack that day for school. His brother got a backpack, it wasn't fair!

So we were so excited when we found this backpack from L.L.Bean. It is tailor made for little guys like mine -- just his size to manage and still big enough to fit actual school books & supplies in it. We had the most fun picking it out online and I even had it monogrammed with his initials, very cute!

Show Us Your Life - Favorite Vacation Spot

Today at Kelly's Korner is Show Us Your Life Friday. Today is our favorite vacation spot. I love to travel so this is an easy one!

The first spot is definitely Singer Island, Florida because we can go every year as a family.

I love how we have made a tradition to go to the Japanese Steak House at lease once and see a move after. We usually take a trip to see the alligators too.

The rest of the time is spent eating and swimming at the beach or pool.

The Mr. and I have taken a few short weekend vacations--being the awesome pilot that he is. We went to Panama for our honeymoon but I would have to say the trip to New York was a place we would love to go see again.

The first trip there was very short and not near enough time to see too much. We took a ride on the double decker bus for a tour of the city. Next time I would love to go see Lady Liberty up close and personal.

We made an appearance on the Today show.
And took in Madame Tussuad's Wax Museum.
I ate a hot dog from the street vendor & bought a pair of shoes at Macy's (which the dog ate a month later......blank stare, sighs a little). For the short time we had, we took in a lot. It really was great!

Someday I would love travel to Ireland or Greece and maybe Hawaii.

My Grandmother

One Amazing Woman!

I just took a trip back home to visit my grandma who isn't doing so well anymore. I wanted to share this picture of her and I years ago so you can see what a beautiful lady she is and her heart is even more beautiful. We just learned that she has cancer on her brain, liver and lungs and isn't expected to be with us for very much longer.

This is the person who helped raise me to be the person I am today and she did a phenomenal job! I have never went through anything like this especially with someone so close to me. I am so grateful to have spent three days by her side celebrating her and remembering all the things she has taught me and all the love she has given to me and everyone she knows.
