I Have a Great Support System!

I am so blessed with the friends and family that I have that support me!

A good friend of mine watches the boys sometimes if I know I am not going to make it home in time to pick them up after school. Monday was a very emotionally exhausting day and picking the boys up I was suprised with these beautiful tulips!! That's almost better than getting flowers from the hubby--How great is she!!

We also had several friends and family praying for us.

My Kindergartner Skipped Class!

My 6 year old kindergartner skipped class yesterday! Him and a buddy were caught by another teacher sitting on the steps at school and when asked what they were doing they politely said they didn't want to go to music class and that it was boring.
He is now in fear of not being able to go on the next field trip at school so I don't think he will be skipping class again for a while....at least not until 2nd grade!

5QF

It's Mama M's 5 Question Friday, the blog carnival that poses quirky, fun questions so we can get to know each other better.

Questions for Friday, March 26, 2010:

My Little Life

1. Did you pass your driver's test on the first try? NO, but It wasn't my fault I tell you! You see, the test went well. The instructor had told me I passed so we headed back to the court house.

That's when everything went down hill. My excitement to have a driver's license and then the stop sign that I drove right on through. My instructor looked at me with that look of disappointment in her eyes (I can still see it today) and told me she had to fail me.

"But you already passed me" I said. Why did you tell me that and get me all excited. How is a girl supposed to drive and contain that level of excitement?

Anyway I failed and cried. I cried a lot and I was too embarrassed to go back to school and tell everyone I failed. Oh the tragedy!

2. What is your most embarrassing moment? I like to think I don't take myself to seriously to get embarrassed that often. However, there is this time I remember when I worked for a roofing company when I was about 19 or 20. I had to run around and get materials a lot for the crews. I was making a list on this particular sunny afternoon when I was told to pick up a shingle stretcher.

Me: A shingle stretcher? Is that like a carpet stretcher? (I know what you are thinking except I wasn't thinking rationally at that time)

Crew: Yes just like that. Just ask the guy at the lumber yard and he will help you find it.

(Drove to Lumber Yard)

Me: Can you help me with a shingle stretcher

Sale Associate: Shingle stretcher? Did they ask you to get that for them?

Me: Yes

Sales Associate: Well we don't have any in stock. Go back and tell them I will put one on order but it's going to cost them a lot.

Driving back to job site I had a flash of realization but pulling into the driveway watching everyone fall to their knees laughing hysterically really sealed it.

Shingles don't stretch folks!

3. What TV show would you like to be on- Oprah, Biggest Loser, or What Not to Wear? Definitely What Not to Wear-I need a new wardrobe and $5,000 to spend--Sign me up! I could live with some criticism.

4. Would you ever get plastic surgery and what kind? For the longest time that's all I thought about. I planned to have surgery done on the girls when I had my last child so that I wouldn't have to worry about breast feeding problems. But now I have become so much more comfortable with myself and my body that I don't ever think I will. I used to think I needed it for my self esteem but now I have my husband for that!

If I change my mind again I would definitely keep them natural looking for my body size. No Pam Anderson in this personality.

5. What are your favorite jeans to wear? The ones my husband like the best on me which are totally uncomfortable but I wear them for him anyway. My favorite brand are Lucky jeans although I rarely buy them because they are just too much money.

Now it's your turn to join in on the fun!

Saturday Check In: What did you get in the mail this week?

This was the first week I received some freebies in the mail since following some great blogs like Good Deal Mama, The Freebie Blogger and Deal Seeking Mom.

I was super excited to get a shirt from Victoria's Secret--It had been on sale for $12.50 but I didn't buy it when I first saw it because I absolutely do not like paying shipping. I got an email a couple weeks later for a free shipping code plus it was the week they were giving out Secret Rewards cards worth between $10 - $500. Score!

I also got a travel size of the new O'lay total effects body wash with great coupons as well as a sample of Burt's Bees toothpaste.

I can't wait until more free stuff comes in the mail--really looking forward to a free year subscription to Martha Stewart Living Magazine!!

What's In My Shopping Cart?

On my last shopping trip I saved 56% off my total bill after coupons and rebates!!!

My total bill for everything shown here was $100.19.

Most everything purchased was already on sale.

I had $23.60 in coupons

$15.00 from the Olay rebate

$5.00 from Clorox rebate

$5.00 from the SC Johnson Rebate. Each family can use up to 3 rebates and I still have 2 left.

I also mailed off the $50 purchased in P&G products rebate to receive $100 back in P&G coupons.

On another note, I went to Target and picked up 4 of these priced at .97 cents each with 4 - $1.00 off 1 Johnson products coupons for a total of FREE!!

Three of these count towards another $5.00 SC Johnson rebate so instead of FREE I make a profit of $5.00.

Not a bad day at the grocery store!!

It's Friday!!

5 Question Friday that is...

It's Mama M's 5 Question Friday, the blog carnival that poses quirky, fun questions so we can get to know each other better.

My Little Life

1. What's your guilty pleasure? Sometimes you just have to ignore every one thing to get into that book that's been sitting for so long. I love to sit outside on the swing (when it's warm enough of course) and read until everyone finds me then it's all over.

2. What is your favorite TV series? It used to be Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy but Housewives has gotten a little too far out there and I find myself wishing.... ok here it is.... Teen Mom is on. There's something about these little girls having babies that gets me all emotional and I feel like I can relate with some of them.

3. Can you speak any foreign languages? I learned German in high school but the only phrase I can say now is Ich liebe dich which is I love you. And a few other words but in high school I rocked it!

4. How many pairs of shoes do you own? A lot. My boss once asked me about my shoe collection by saying out of the blue "you really like shoes don't you?" Why, yes I do. But my collection has started to dwindle down in the past year partly because of THE DOG!!

5. What's your favorite kind of M&M's...peanut, almond, straight up regular, etc.? I like peanut and regular depending on the mood I'm in.

There you have it. Now go check out all the other Q & A's.

Heellloooooo

La La La

Ha! Ha! Last night was the first time I've seen this episode of Seinfeld.

You see, a friend of mine and I have been saying that phrase for a few years now and I never completely understood it. My friend had explained it to me and where it was from but I have never been a Seinfeld fan. Until my husband started "making" me watch it and Cheers.

This phrase has morphed itself into a world of it's own. I totally get it now and couldn't get to sleep knowing I had to post about it.

Have you seen it?

My Pilot is Hotter Than Yours!

Bahahaha!!

The Bachelor was a good one to watch this year considering I am married to a pilot--who just turned 30 in February!! Happy Birthday Love!

This last weekend he took me out to dinner and a movie and I am so excited to say we have a hibatchi grill at the lake now--very exciting considering we have had to go to the city in the past.

We also went to the theatre and watched Shutter Island--what a fantastic movie. I will definitely be watching it again as soon as it hits Redbox!

5 Question Friday

It's Mama M's 5 Question Friday, the blog carnival that poses quirky, fun questions so we can get to know each other better.

Questions for Friday, February 19, 2010:

My Little Life

1. Have you ever hit an animal with your vehicle?
No, I prefer to hit other cars. Ha! just a little post accident humor.
I don't think so--thank goodness. One time though I thought I hit a bird but turns out he made it.

2. When you see a string on your clothes do you pull it off or cut if off?

Definitely cut it--most of the time. If it's something I don't care too much about then I just pull it.

3. Did you have your own room or share a room when you were young?

There were way too many of us kids to have had our own room. The boys shared and the girls shared that was the name of the game. I have 2 sisters and can remember sharing a room with each one of them. Both sisters are great but at the time I think we all complained about the situation. My two boys have their own rooms but sometimes I think they are too spoiled and I should put them in a room together and teach them to get along!

4. Would you rather wear the same thing for the rest of your life or eat the same thing for the rest of your life?

Hmmm, does that mean I can only wear one thing or just never get anything else new because I think I can do that, actually if it's a good enough outfit I could wear only it too. I love to eat--that's out of the question!

5. What was your favorite TV show as a child?

Definitely Saved by the Bell! My own kids are watching it now--it's a classic! But as an older child it was 90210. I watched that show from the very first episode! I don't know about the new 90210 either--I don't like it but maybe that's how I would have felt about the old one if I were this age then.

OK, there you have it. Now it's your turn.

100,000 Miles

On January 6th, my car turned over to 100,000 miles. I have never had a car long enough to 1. pay it off and 2. have over 100,000 miles on it.

December of last year was my final payment and it is a great feeling! But a not so great feeling is watching the mileage turn over to 6 digits.
