Writer's Workshop - 7 Most Favorite Summer Items

It's time for Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop again. The prompt I chose this week is to List your 7 most favorite summer items.

1. A good book. I just finished A Summer Affair by Elin Hilderbrand and it was the perfect summer read.

2. Fresh flowers in the garden. I don't have much of the green thumb but I enjoy watching the new summer flowers bloom.

3. Lazy summer evening walks.

4. Our timeshare in Florida. Although it's been a couple of years since we've been, I can't wait to go back and make more memories.

5. Family barbeque's and get-togethers.

6. The sun because that means longer sun kissed days.

7. A hammock to read in and enjoy the sun hopefully with family all around.

Office Space

OK, so I didn't tackle the office yesterday like I thought I would, but I have posted pictures that I am very embarrassed over that will hopefully motivate me to start. The only problem is I have to fit all of this stuff into the space. There isn't any other place for it.

There are two computers, two desks, a bookcase, a pair of chairs that I hope to one day re-finish. Found those beauties at the thrift store a few years ago.

Yes, there is a dresser mirror, the dresser is in the hallway.
and even workout equipment.

This is everything that's left from our merging of the households that there just isn't enough room for. So it isn't that it's a complete mess, there just isn't a place for everything.

I did however submerge myself in The Bachelorette and read my book until 11:30 last night. Good news, the boys are home early tonight instead of tomorrow. Yippeee!

I will get this space organized and post pictures to prove it.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

OK, so it wasn't a jet plane but Mr. A left.....in a small plane......the he flew.......to Chicago......for a week. I am so proud to be married to him. It is something else to watch your husband take off in a plane that he is flying. However, that means I am home alone for a week. What does one do with one's new alone time (The little men won't be home until Wednesday)? Why, become completely engrossed in a book for hours outside getting kissed by the sun until the mosquitos take over and it is too dark to read.

Tonight on the list is to conquer our "office". There is too much furniture & stuff in that area because it has become an overflow since blending houses. Or I might find myself on the deck again consumed by my book???

Show Us Your LIfe - Wedding Dresses

At Kelly's Korner it's show us your wedding dress Friday. How exciting because I am still loving every chance I get to look at and show off our wedding pictures.

I pictured my wedding dress to be very simple and the ball gown type. After several trips to bridal stores and no luck I started trying on other dresses. Some were not at all an option and then I found the one. Not like I had pictured it but definitely "me".

Here are a few of my favorites.

I Hope I Win!

I entered a giveaway from Lauren and I hope I win. I would love to sport a necklace with my new initials.

This is what it looks like.

Cross your fingers for me please.

I Got a Virtual Hair Makeover

It is time to find a new hairstyle so how does one do this, they go online and get a virtual makeover of course. Here are my top picks. I think I want to go with bangs again. What do you think? I have approval from Mr. A on all of these picks, even the shorter one.

I almost think this is my favorite, although I don't know if I could go this short, yet.
I like the choppy-ness of these bangs.

Getting a little lighter on the color and I like the bangs a lot. I would keep my length.

Way to blonde, but you get the point.

My Interior Design Style

I came upon a website called Sproost. It is all about interior design which is great because I don't know what my interior design style is. I always feel like I get the things I want for my house but it always feels just like a Hodge Podge style.?. So at Sproost I took a quiz to discover my personal style and my results......33% Mountain Lodge Style, 33% Nantucket Style, 34% Modern Elegance. That's what I thought, Hodge Podge. The description of each one is right on. Take the quiz and let me know how you rate.

Here are some of my favorite rooms-

Letter To The Facebook Psychic

Dear Facebook Psychic,

I broke down and took one of your quizzes, the one titled "How Many Children Will You Have?" and it seems there is a problem. The problem isn't how many children or how many of what sex, it is that you said my middle child will be a girl. I would like to dispute this because I really want your quiz to be true and accurate but I already have two boys therefore leaving the girl to be my youngest. Oh how you know I so desperately want a little girl, I hope that you are not just playing a game with my emotions. Please check your records again.

Sincerely,
Mrs. A

Writer's Workshop

This week I have decided to participate in Writer's Workshop for the first time, courtesy of Mama Kat.

The idea is to choose a prompt that inspires you the most to write about and I chose #5 What are three things we would love to know about you!

1. I am an old soul and I have often felt like I don't fit in with my generation.

2. I can't stand the sound of chewing. It drives me insane to hear that noise made when people eat and I know there isn't anything I can do about it but leave the room. I am not bothered however if I am eating too and can't hear anyone else chewing. I am crazy.

3. I dream of one day being a stay at home mom and house wife.

The View From My Window

Actually this was the view from the entire neighborhood. There are a couple of new small baby deer in the neighborhood and they are just the cutest with there white spots. Being home alone last night, I had the privilage of going on an extended walk and saw them several times. Usually the boys and I watch them out the kitchen window eating in the lot next to us. They don't seem to mind Sydney and Sydney doesn't seem to mind them.

6 Month Anniversary

No, not mine and Levi's but ours with Zoe. Levi brought Zoe home on January 13th. So in honor of our kitty, I leave you with a few pictures.
This is just this morning when Kitty wanted to go bye-bye in the suitcase Levi was packing.

These were of her the day she came home and Sydney wouldn't leave her alone.

Time Out!

Every now and then when the wonderful daily routine of life gets interrupted by things that are brought on by spiteful people with nothing better to do with their life out of our control, sometimes it just takes someone to remind you to hand all of your problems over to God because he is the only one who is truly in control. So, thank you Mom, I needed that time out! Now, back to our regular programming.

Celebrating Our Independence!

The rain didn't keep us down on the 4th, we managed to get some sun!
Fireworks however were on the fritz.
